Shri S.K.Kinra, Officer-In-Charge, TDSP-UNIDO, New Delhi emphasized on value addition through use of latest technology. Mr. Kinra appreciated the initiative of CDOS, Ministry of Mines, Government of India and UNIDO. He further desired that Testing centre for stones to be operationalized soon.

Mr. A.K. Agarwal, Director, Rajasthan Udyog informed that diamond segments of 2mm thickness are being developed in India. Advent of this technology would revolutionized the processing of natural stones and would result in reduction of processing time, energy, water, labour and slurry problems associated with processing of stones. He further informed about the advancements made by India in producing indigenous machinery, tools and consumables for working natural stones.

Mr. Giovanni Lanceni, Director, Bideseimpianti, Italy informed about latest technologies in stone processing. These technologies include multi wire gangsaw machines, CNC machines and other new technologies for enhancing production. This would result in high production, extensive power saving, value addition and less manpower use.

Dr. Suresh Singh, MD, Neelam Aqua introduced to the use of high molecular weight co polymers in water treatment, water re-use and environment protection. He further informed about the use of specific polymer for specific effluent and the wastewater could be reclaimed and reused in the processing plants.

Mr. S.C.Agarwal, President, A.S.I (K) Ltd presented on the architectural applications of Kota stone highlighting various physico-mechanical properties of kota stone and its potential.
